          Fundamental Principle: Data Never Leaves Your Device.
          All night audio processing, decibel calculation, and recording clips are executed entirely on your iPhone and saved solely inside your local application sandbox. We do not maintain any cloud database or user registration system.
        

1. Overview

SnoreCatcher ("we", "our", or "the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy details how data is managed when you use our iOS application. By using SnoreCatcher, you agree to the terms set forth herein.

2. Data Handled by SnoreCatcher

2.1 Audio Data & Local Processing

Microphone Stream: Used in real time to calculate sound decibel (dB) levels and analyze snore characteristics via Apple's native SoundAnalysis framework.
Storage: Audio clips captured upon verified snore triggers are encoded in AAC (.m4a) and stored strictly in your local device Documents directory.
No Cloud Sync: Audio files are never transmitted to any external server or third-party storage.
Retention Policy: Recordings are retained locally for 7 days by default and can be permanently deleted or exported by the user at any time.

2.2 Metadata & App Preferences

Session Logs: Includes timestamps, duration, and maximum decibel metrics stored locally in sessions.json.
User Settings: Sensitivity preferences and retention options are stored via iOS UserDefaults on-device.

3. iOS Permissions

Microphone Permission (NSMicrophoneUsageDescription): Essential to monitor nighttime sound levels and detect snoring episodes.
App Tracking Transparency (NSUserTrackingUsageDescription): Optional consent for Google AdMob personalized advertising under Apple's ATT framework. Users may refuse without impacting core snoring detection functionality.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

SnoreCatcher utilizes Google AdMob to display advertising, which sustains the ongoing maintenance of the application.

AdMob may collect anonymized device identifiers, crash logs, and diagnostics in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
We publish authorized seller records via app-ads.txt to prevent fraudulent advertising.
No audio data or personal health markers are ever shared with advertisers or third parties.

5. User Rights & Data Deletion

Because all recordings reside locally, you retain complete sovereignty over your data. You may delete individual sound clips within the app, clear all historical sessions, or remove all data instantly by uninstalling the application.
